Projects

The last month of class will be dedicated to a group project. This will be a project of your own devising, built from the ground up (libraries/apis are allowed). There are required components such as having both an api server+database and a clientside that you have to build through a series of milestones. Best practices, group dynamics, agile, etc will all be on the menu.

Milestones At a Glance

Pitch Presentation: Pitch your problem/solution/topic to the class. Everybody will rank their top choices and groups will be formed that way.

First Team Meeting: Meet your team and work on dynamics, solidifying and consolidating an idea.

Feature Spec: A walk-though of your project from the users perspective listing out every feature that it should have with a few user stories attached and mockups of user experience.

Mockups: Designs and Mockups for what you are planning on building!

Scaffolding: Initial code scaffolding started with a component plan and tools and frameworks chosen.

Dev Site Up (client+server):Dev site goes live allowing people to see basic flow (components hitting api endpoints pulling data from database).

Final Project Demos: Final Demos! Open to public (virtually) event combined with other CS projects, CS98 and DALI Demos! Motivate the idea, show it in action, discuss challenges and any user testing.

Final Project Code Submission: Final code submission with up to date documentation.
